On Friday, October 12th, fourteen brave LSU students went to College Station to take part in the 4th annual Chillenium Game Jam at Texas A&M. This is the world’s largest student game jam and features teams from Canada and the US with 352 students from 16 different Universities. RedStick Video Game Symposium Welcomes NVIDIA, HP & Twitch

Luis will be giving a 3 hour workshop at Patrick Taylor Hall in Room 1262 on Wednesday, April 25th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. During this 3 hour hands-on workshop, we will focuses on general Unreal Engine workflows and best practices, understanding the content pipeline, and establishing a working understanding of the lighting and rendering systems within Unreal Engine 4.

Trihex (Mychal Ramon Jefferson) is an American professional gamer and speedrunner. Active at the biannual Game Done Quick events, Trihex is best known for his runs of Jet Set Radio and Yoshi’s Island. He is a very popular livestreamer, with over 250,000 followers on Twitch. RedStick Esports Symposium Welcomes Kyle Langley

RedStick 2018 is proud to welcome Kyle Langley, Systems Designer, currently working on Fortnite with Epic Games. More than 40 million people have downloaded Fortnite and the game has peaked at over 2 million playing simultaneously. Fortnite Mobile is a top selling iPhone app in 13 countries. LSU DMAE Student Wins ADDY Award

The Baton Rouge American Advertising Federation has completed their 2018 ADDY awards. Work awarded at a local level can advance to the second tier, the AAF District 7 competition. Recipients of gold and silver awards at this level can then advance to the national competition, presented at the AAF convention annually.

LIFF Student Submissions

The Louisiana Film Festival is coming up on April 19th throught the 22nd. They are still taking submissions for student work. The categories are: Narrative Short, Documentary Short and Animated Short. You can submit your work on the withoutabox website. When you submit your film you will enter LSUstudent_waiver on the final submission page, allowing the first 20 projects to submit at no cost. Good luck!
