LSU and the Cain Center held its first ESports summer camp in 2022. This took place on July 10th through 23rd. There were six participants who got a chance to look at a few competitive video games, develop some quick prototypes and then finally use the Virtual Production soundstage for an Esports finale. Popular titles like Valorant, League of Legends and Rocket League; a favorite of the official Esports LSU UREC club, will were used to develop teamwork and communication skills. Attendees talked to industry professionals and explored ways to get involved in esports beyond playing games with topics like game design, streaming, and pc building. The camp was led by Jonathan Lai (recent LSU DMAE grad student) and Meredyth Yorek (current LSU MBA/DMAE grad student).
