Tim's Vermeer

As part of DMAE 1720 Interactive Design, Rapid Prototyping & Innovation, we explore many techniques. Some are innovative in developing a new concept. Others are reconstructive, using techniques in novel ways created by others.

Tim Jenison was an early pioneer in digital media who founded NewTek inc. which created the Video Toaster and Lightwave 3D. Both of these were transformational in the entertainment software industry. In this movie he takes a low tech approach. He looks to reconstruct how Vermeer might have accomplished the results he did by trying to reverse engineer his process using tools that were only available during Vermeer's time.
